Rice grew up in Kingston upon Thames and spent seven years in Chelsea's academy before being released at fourteen — a rejection West Ham turned into their greatest modern asset. He debuted at eighteen in 2017, converted from centre-half to midfield, and grew into the club captain who lifted the Europa Conference League in 2023, West Ham's first major trophy in over forty years. How he plays

Rice covers ground nobody else covers. He breaks up play with long, clean strides and recovers attacks that look lost, then carries the ball fifty yards the other way.
